Kameryn is 1- Cake Smash
It was a windy, yet beautiful blue sky day, and Kameryn was such a trooper! Before heading to Kameryn’s house for her cake smash, we all met downtown Fort Collins for some family photos. I had so much fun with them exploring a new area, as I have never had a session there before. There were so many “nooks and crannies” every turn you made, we could have stopped every 3 feet because of the cool colored buildings! I love that they were so laid back and up for anything, because as we strolled along to another spot we really got to know each other. It’s so nice, and important to me, when I can connect with a client so well, even if I have never met them before that day.
Even though I said Kameryn was such a trooper, between outfit changes and the wind, eventually she had about enough. Honestly, I don’t blame her!! That wind was gusty and I am surprised she wasn’t whisked away like a feather! 😉 We decided it was time to head to their home, just minutes away from downtown, to start with the even more fun part…the Cake Smash!! I was so excited to get there because I wanted them to finally see what I had been working on for the session. Having a Silhouette machine, I have really been into creating my own paper props for sessions, such as garlands, cake banners, and hats, which are all things I made for this session! Once getting to their home, I was greeted by a few extra viewers, Kameryn’s Grandparents and Aunt!
We all had such a fun time watching her as she inconspicuously poked at the cake. Her aunt tried to show her that she would have more fun if she would just smash it. Which is eventually what ended up happening! 🙂 Toddlers and children are always told not to make a mess, so I think this was a moment that Kameryn was thinking she shouldn’t do that. 😉 I was so impressed that she stayed put the entire time of the cake smash session, especially since she was in the process of learning how to walk! I am thrilled she and her family had a fun time because thats what my goal is with any session, just to simply have fun! 🙂 I can’t wait to photograph this adorable family again in the future!
